Drink and sun

It is important to drink enough when the sun is shining. Your body gets warmer and sweats more. You therefore literally need cooling. Water replenishes your body's fluids and ensures that your body can cool itself down better. For your well-being, a cold drink is wonderful to help you feel fresher and cooled down. However, be careful not to be tempted to drink too much alcohol. Water is still the best option. Always listen to your thirst when sitting in the sun. Drinking extra water preventively is best.

Alcohol and sun

Enjoying an alcoholic drink in the sun is very tempting, but you do need to be careful. The heat increases blood flow in your blood vessels. As a result, the alcohol is absorbed into your blood faster and can be distributed throughout your body more easily. Consequently, the alcohol enters your system quickly. brain rightly so, and as a result, you feel the effect of the alcohol sooner. Whether you get drunk depends mainly on the amount of alcohol you consume. Additionally, because your blood vessels are dilated, you are also more likely to burn. Exercising in the sun requires extra water.

If the sun is shining and you are an outdoor athlete, keep in mind that you should not exercise in direct sunlight and make sure you drink extra water. Drink a few extra glasses of water before you start exercising. In addition to exercising, also drink an isotonic drink. An isotonic drink is water with an amount of dissolved particles (salt and sugar) that corresponds to a person's 'body water'. Isotonic drinks are quickly absorbed by the body. In any case, it is not advisable to exercise intensively above 28 degrees Celsius.
